Description
Between April 19 and 23, Teruel will host the National Exhibition of Youth Philately in its 28th edition. This exhibition is organized every two years in a different city and for the first time in its history it coincides with the celebration of the EXFILNA, which is why Teruel becomes the capital of Philately this April.
Both exhibitions have 3 locations, but without a doubt the one dedicated to the youth public will concentrate with all its activities in the Youth Leisure Center.
Being an exhibition aimed at a younger audience, the aim was to recover the dinosaur-themed series that in 2015 consisted of the Ankylosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops and Diplodocus stamps; and in 2016 the Europelta, Pelecanimimus, Proa and Turiasaurus.
In this 2023, the dinosaur chosen has been the Aragosaurus ischiaticus, which consists of a stamp in which we see a representation of what its image was and a vignette in which an illustration of some of the remains found appears.
Aragosaurus ischiaticus is a quadrupedal sauropod dinosaur with a large neck and tail and a small head. It was about 17 meters long and was a herbivorous dinosaur.
It was found in the town of Galve (Teruel) and its name means "Reptile of Aragon". It is the first dinosaur defined in Spain.
It lived in the limit between the Upper Jurassic and the Lower Cretaceous (150-140 ma).
