Disney Characters Come Alive On Postage Stamps
America’s love with the different Disney characters should be of no surprise. Many of us have been fortunate enough to grow up vacationing at “the happiest place on earth”…Disneyland and Disney World. At the least, we have all been blessed with experiencing the fun movies that have been produced by the Walt Disney Company; which make us fall in love with the adorable characters. Every now and then the United States Postal Service teams up with Disney to create some special postage stamps that appeal to not only the young, but the young at heart!
In August of 1997, the USPS honored the magic of Disney once again when they issued four adorable postage stamps of Disney characters. There were four stamps in the set. Each stamp issued was a 41 cent stamp. The characters depicted were Mickey Mouse as “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”, Peter Pan and Tinker Bell, Dumbo and Timothy Mouse, and Aladdin and the Genie. Each time the USPS issues a new set of Disney postage stamps, the color, clarity, and details of the characters improve tremendously.
