The Stamp Collectors Corner

In years long past, parents announced the birth of a new child with a cigar adorned with a pink or blue band and a hardy handshake.  In today’s world, parents around the world are finding creative ways to let the world know that a new baby has arrived.

Now I must admit that I don’t know exactly why France issued these adorable postage stamps with sweet little naked babies on them; but affixing them to birth announcements does seem like a logical option.  Perhaps they just knew that the public would have a difficult time refusing to buy such sweet little bundles of sleeping cherubs.
